Lean product development principles can be applied to writing to great benefit. Shorter product development cycles lowers labour costs by shrinking product scope, allowing smaller minimum viable products and decreasing time to market.

Decreasing time to market is important because:

1. Shorter product development cycles allow for rapid iteration due to shorter feedback loops
   • Rapid prototype iteration is good because it allows for:
     1. Adaptability to market conditions; Iterative and incremental development; iterative design, incremental build model
     2. Fast failing
        • Fail-fast systems; mitigates risk of sunk labor cost; move fast and break things
